McMenamins Hotel Oregon is a distinctive part of the McMenamins family-owned company that operates across Oregon and Washington. Known for serving handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside good, honest pub fare, McMenamins is deeply rooted in community and culture. The company operates in a variety of locations, ranging from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing a unique blend of art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. McMenamins values diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and offering both seasonal and long-term career opportunities.
The Seasonal Kitchen Assistant-Assistant Manager (KAAM) position at McMenamins Hotel Oregon plays a crucial role in supporting the seamless execution of kitchen operations. Under the guidance and direction of the Chef/Manager, the KAAM ensures that all kitchen tasks are performed efficiently while maintaining an excellent level of customer service and operational standards. This role demands a versatile individual capable of performing both management and non-management duties, such as opening and closing kitchen responsibilities, overseeing shift activities, and acting as a host when necessary. The KAAM will also be involved in routine duties like line cooking, managing labor and food costs, supervising side work, cleaning, and staff training.
This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, busy, and deadline-driven environment. The KAAM is responsible for addressing issues promptly during shifts and escalating concerns to higher management as needed. They will also work indoors and outdoors on a seasonal basis, continuously ensuring positive customer relations and service standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive working independently as well as part of a team while engaging in physically demanding and multitasking workloads. McMenamins supports a positive work environment, career growth, and a balanced personal and professional life.
McMenamins provides a comprehensive benefits package including perks such as discounted hotel rooms, wine, apparel, and spa services, employee discounts, insurance coverage, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, and flexible work opportunities at various locations. The company fosters fun and positivity in its workplace, encouraging staff development and diverse career paths. This role is perfectly suited for someone passionate about hospitality, kitchen operations, and community involvement, looking to grow within a supportive and dynamic company culture.
