The role of the Bistro Attendant is pivotal within this dynamic environment, responsible for assisting guests throughout the various food and beverage outlets within the Courtyard Bistro and related catering services. As a Bistro Attendant, one takes on multifaceted responsibilities that revolve around delivering efficient, courteous service while promoting the Bistro's offerings. This includes welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, preparing a variety of food and beverages — including alcoholic drinks during evening shifts — and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of orders. The position demands adherence to strict health and safety regulations as well as compliance with SREE Hotels' high standards for quality and cleanliness.
Bistro Attendants are the frontline ambassadors of the Courtyard Bistro, tasked with performing opening and closing duties, maintaining stocked and organized work areas, and supporting both front and back-of-house operations. The job requires proficiency in operating POS systems to process orders and payments accurately, communicating special dietary requests to kitchen staff, and upholding the cleanliness and maintenance of food preparation stations and dining areas. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Beyond routine customer interaction and order fulfillment, this position also involves handling cash registers, balancing financial transactions at shift end, and following property audit standards. The job setting primarily involves indoor work within a customer-facing environment requiring employees to walk, stand, bend, and sometimes lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in scheduling is critical, as the Bistro Attendant may need to work varied shifts throughout the week to meet the demands of the business.

Job Requirements
- Previous courtyard bistro experience or similar food outlet experience (e.g. Panera, Starbucks) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Friendly, outgoing, customer service-oriented personality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Hands-on experience with cash register and POS systems
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to read and process orders as they appear on the screen
- Food safety certification or ability to obtain certification
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks when needed

Job Duties
- Completes opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools
- Cleaning all equipment and areas
- Sets up, stocks, and maintains work areas
- Takes customer orders, inputs orders into order system, obtains payment and provides change
- Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Prepares food, coffee and other beverages, including alcohol (during PM shifts)
- Prepares ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
- Provides assistance in food and beverage areas including busing, cleaning and resetting tables
- Delivers food to guests
- Performs general cleaning of food and beverage prep areas and other areas within the lobby area
- Counts bank at end of shift, completes designated cashier reports, resolves any discrepancies, drops off receipts, and secures bank
- Other duties as assigned by management
