Job Qualifications

  • One to two years of post-high school education
  • one to two years of employment in a related position within the hotel or a similar organization
  • thorough knowledge of guest services, hotel policies, procedures, and operations
  • supervisory and management skills
  • ability to compile facts and figures
  • ability to make decisions guided by established policies
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to develop and enforce standard operating procedures

Job Duties

  • Supervise the front desk and VIP employees
  • interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel staff
  • recommend performance reviews
  • resolve problems
  • provide open communications
  • recommend discipline and termination as appropriate
  • develop standard operating procedures governing daily guest service operations
  • supervise compliance with standard operating procedures and safety regulations
  • ensure high-quality service and hospitality for hotel guests
  • coordinate activities with event coordinators, meeting planners, travel organizations, and limo services
  • assist sales and marketing departments in attracting and retaining customers through quality customer service
  • provide employees and guests with information on local restaurants, theaters, and community events
  • monitor and manage departmental budget to minimize expenses
  • implement emergency training procedures for guest and staff safety
  • maintain knowledge of emergency protocols including evacuation procedures
  • perform special projects and participate in task forces and committees
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Hotel Operations Manager
