Job Requirements
- Minimum of five years progressive senior leadership experience
- At least two years in an executive committee position
- Experience in hotel operations including rooms and food & beverage
- College degree highly preferred
- Exceptional management and mentoring skills
- Ability to budget and forecast
- Ability to maintain vendor and community relationships
- Proficient in MS Office and PMS systems
- Mastery of forecasting, scheduling, and payroll
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Ability to set priorities and provide feedback
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of five years progressive senior leadership experience, with at least two years in an executive committee position
- Experience in all areas of hotel operations including rooms and food & beverage, preferably in an upscale hotel
- College degree highly preferred but not required
- Exceptional management skills with proven track record in mentoring and leading teams
- Ability to budget and forecast productivities and direct expenses
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors, community and organizations
- Excellent technical skills including MS Office, PMS system Opera, Delphi and Oracle
- Mastery level understanding of forecasting, scheduling, payroll, associate relations, service recovery, budgeting, inventory management, cost control, daily reviews and analysis of operating results
- Proven leadership skills with ability to delegate, train, develop and motivate staff
- Ability to set priorities for rooms and food & beverage leadership teams and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on all assigned items including guest requests
- Ability to work well under pressure, think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
- Highly developed customer service skills with friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Work closely with executive committee members to ensure financial, service standards and employee relation goals are met
- Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing and disciplining all staff with support of operations management team
- Coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of operations with support of department heads and assistant managers
- Ensure guest service standards are met and developed to maintain excellent guest service
- Direct property operations in general manager's absence
- Maintain close communication with general manager and other department heads
- Recommend programs for staff motivation and development
- Assist in developing annual budget and action plans including annual objectives
- Review daily operating results and weekly forecasting and scheduling, taking immediate corrective action if required
- Conduct daily review of hotel operations with department heads
- Attend hotel operational meetings, rooms and food & beverage departmental meetings, and associate-related events
- Review annual objectives composed by department heads and monitor progress to completion
