Job Requirements
- Ability to lift push pull carry and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance team lifting or mechanical aid as appropriate
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees including bending twisting pulling and stopping as well as standing sitting and or walking for varying periods of time throughout the workday
- Work is performed in a hotel environment that operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week
- Flexibility in scheduling may be required based on business needs including evenings weekends and holidays
- Foster a positive and motivated team environment
Job Qualifications
- OSHA training and compliance
- Understanding of OSHA and compliance standards
- High School GED or equivalent
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience
- Basic understanding of electrical plumbing and mechanical systems
Job Duties
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of hotel infrastructure including HVAC plumbing electrical systems technology phones cables elevators and kitchen equipment
- Oversee upkeep of guest rooms public areas exterior grounds and back-of-house spaces
- Ensure preventative and corrective maintenance schedules are followed
- Develop and implement a proactive preventive maintenance plan
- Schedule routine inspections and servicing of equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections
- Hire train and manage a team of engineers technicians and tradespeople
- Assign work orders oversee task completion and manage shift rotations
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training for team members
- Prepare and manage the department’s budget
- Monitor inventory consumption and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage inventory of tools spare parts and maintenance supplies
- Ensure all systems comply with local building codes fire safety laws and health regulations
- Conduct regular fire and safety inspections drills and compliance checks
- Maintain documentation for OSHA ADA EPA and other regulatory bodies
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from guests and other departments
- Minimize disruption to guest experience during maintenance work
- Ensure all guest-facing equipment is functioning properly
- Work closely with housekeeping front office and other departments to address repair needs
- Ensure event spaces kitchens pools and fitness centers are properly maintained for safe use
- Develop and maintain emergency protocols for system failures
- Lead or participate in emergency response teams for fire natural disasters or equipment failures
