The company values optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit, which shape its culture, guide its employees, and drive the quality of service it delivers to its guests. American Cruise Lines prides itself on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, offering opportunities for career growth and professional development.
The Hotel Maintenance Manager role at American Cruise Lines is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the preventative maintenance and refurbishment of hotel facilities on the cruise fleet. This role ensures that all aspects of the hotel’s physical environment meet brand standards and exceed guest expectations. The manager oversees all interior routine maintenance, including the replacement and refurbishment of furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Working closely with hotel operations and design teams, the Hotel Maintenance Manager assesses maintenance needs, prepares detailed project scopes, and ensures that refurbishment projects are completed according to design specifications, budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
This managerial position requires thorough coordination with both the shipboard crew and shore-side contractors to maintain the fleet in excellent operating condition. The Hotel Maintenance Manager is responsible for draft planning, budgeting, and presenting project timelines to senior leadership, managing ticketing systems for maintenance requests, and facilitating communication among all stakeholders involved in refurbishment projects. The manager oversees the adherence to safety and environmental regulations, coordinates bids, advises on contract negotiations, and monitors quality assurance during projects. This role also involves on-site supervision of refurbishment efforts and frequent travel, approximately 60 percent yearly, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Candidates for this position should have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and TWIC certification are necessary. The position offers a dynamic work environment where the successful candidate will contribute to the company's ongoing success by ensuring that the cruising experience delivered to guests remains world-class through meticulous upkeep and refurbishment of the fleet’s hotel facilities.
