We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and quality of all linens, towels, and guest laundry items throughout the hotel. The Laundry Attendant assures that all hotel laundry items are washed, dried, folded, and stored efficiently while adhering to the hotel's quality standards. This position is crucial in supporting the housekeeping department by ensuring an uninterrupted supply of clean linens and towels, thereby enhancing the overall guest experience.
The Laundry Attendant's responsibilities extend beyond basic laundry duties; this role includes operating industrial laundry machines, performing stain removal, and maintaining laundry equipment to guarantee optimal functionality. The role demands a focus on quality control by inspecting linens for damages and ensuring that each item meets the hotel’s presentation standards, including proper folding and storage.
In addition to laundry operations, the Laundry Attendant contributes to maintaining cleanliness and organization in public spaces such as hotel lobbies and common areas, providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The role involves inventory management by tracking linen and towel supplies to avoid shortages and reporting any issues to supervisors to ensure timely replacements.
Handling guest laundry services also forms a significant part of this position, requiring the utmost care, confidentiality, and adherence to hotel policies for guest items. The position requires compliance with health and safety regulations, safe handling of cleaning agents and laundry equipment, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment.
Strong teamwork and effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with other laundry and housekeeping staff to meet service demands and maintain the smooth operation of daily tasks. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, along with physical stamina to handle demanding tasks, are important aspects of this role.
Our ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, though previous experience in a hotel laundry or housekeeping environment is desirable but not mandatory. Job Duties
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment according to hotel standards
- sort, load, and unload laundry items including towels, linens, bedding, and guest laundry
- wash, dry, and fold linens and other laundry items following hotel standards for cleanliness and presentation
- maintain cleanliness of laundry equipment and ensure it operates properly
- perform stain removal and special cleaning as required for linens or guest items
- ensure that the hotel lobby and common areas are clean, organized, and welcoming for guests
- maintain an adequate stock of clean towels, linens, and other laundry items for guest rooms and public areas
