Job Requirements

  • must be flexible hours/days including weekends and holidays
  • 1-3 years experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel environment
  • ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to motivate co-workers
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry approximately 20 lbs
  • stand for long periods
  • kneel, bend and crawl
  • tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel environment
  • advanced knowledge of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping best practices
  • excellent attention to detail with high levels of successful communication
  • ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure
  • ability to motivate co-workers effectively
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and think outside the box
  • must be flexible hours/days including weekends and holidays
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • meet and exceed customer and team member expectations by providing outstanding service and teamwork
  • provide value added service to customers by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • communicate in a professional manner with customers, co-workers, and managers
  • demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
  • ensure the standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout the hotel and manage the housekeeping department efficiently to maintain standards and control cost
  • ensure standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in all guest rooms, corridors, and storage closets
  • supervise, inspect, coach, and work with housekeeping staff on the daily cleaning of assigned rooms, corridors, storage areas, and public areas to the highest standards
  • ensure the upkeep of vacant rooms
  • ensure that all room attendants’ carts and stock rooms are kept orderly
  • conduct monthly inventory on supplies
  • ensure guests property left behind is logged and stored in a secure location daily
  • take action on any maintenance issues in guest rooms to ensure hotels established quality standards and ensure guest satisfaction
  • monitor working conditions, report to management any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practice and procedures
