Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two to four years of housekeeping or related experience
- Flexible availability including first or second shift and weekends
- Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift push pull and carry up to 20 lbs stand kneel bend crawl squat and crouch
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work any required hours to meet business needs
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of two to four years of work related skill knowledge or experience
- Ability to direct and motivate staff to clean rooms efficiently and cost effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Bilingual English Spanish a plus
- Ability to prepare work assignments and make recommendations to improve service and operations
- Ability to monitor the appropriate use of equipment facilities and materials
- Flexible work hours to accommodate last minute scheduling changes
- Ability to adjust energy levels to accommodate a fast paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
- Detail oriented in supervising staff inspection of facilities and completing assignments
Job Duties
- Provide a clean well maintained hotel by supervising laundry and housekeeping operations
- Utilize leadership skills effective communication and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction
- Employ respectful discipline as required under supervision of the General Manager
- Schedule employees in accordance with forecasted occupancy and adjust staffing as necessary for sudden changes in occupancy
- Coordinate availability of rooms with Guest Care Manager and General Manager
- Supervise the daily activities of the housekeeping staff
- Monitor responses on customer comment cards identify problem areas and formulate solutions
- Conduct continual inspections to determine hotel’s overall level of cleanliness and perform follow up
- Strive to reduce accidents and maintain safe working conditions within the hotel and department ensuring employees follow safety rules and procedures
- Monitor performance of the department against approved budget making appropriate recommendations as necessary
- Oversee inventory purchasing disbursement and cost control for linens cleaning supplies and equipment
- Schedule and supervise all rotational and special cleaning programs
- Secure keys in accordance with hotel’s key management policy
- Achieve required threshold scores according to brand and Company inspections
- Prepare reports as requested to develop an informative data base for improved management and evaluation of work activities
