The use of wheeled carts to transport linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies is a fundamental part of this job. Housekeepers also take responsibility for emptying wastebaskets and ensuring trash and waste are removed properly and promptly.
The job demands physical stamina and attention to detail as workers are required to sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using various tools such as brooms, mops, and swiffers. The majority of shifts include weekends, reflecting the hospitality industry's needs for continuous operation and customer service. Alongside the physical tasks, housekeepers must deliver excellent customer service, handling guest requests and minor complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
