We are currently seeking Full-Time Housekeepers to join our dynamic team. The position of Housekeeping Guest Service Representative (GSR) is vital to maintaining the high standards associated with Red Roof Inns. The Housekeeping GSR ensures the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of guest rooms and other property areas, always prioritizing guest comfort and satisfaction. This role involves preparing rooms to meet industry and company standards within a given timeframe, which is essential for maintaining the quality product that guests expect.

Housekeepers will work closely with other team members, including Maintenance GSRs, to ensure rooms are in optimal condition and safety and security standards are upheld. This collaboration fosters a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Housekeepers take pride in their routine cleaning duties, knowing their work greatly enhances the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities include thorough cleaning and sanitation of rooms using approved chemicals in line with OSHA regulations, replacing linens and terry, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and restocking carts with necessary supplies. Additionally, housekeepers greet guests with a friendly attitude while maintaining professionalism and handle guest requests following the company’s 24-7 rule for service excellence.

The role requires physical endurance to operate cleaning equipment, transport carts weighing up to 50 pounds, and work under various weather conditions, especially since some properties have exterior corridors. Compliance with all RRI West and OSHA safety and security protocols is mandatory. Housekeepers also participate in quality inspections and are expected to maintain accurate daily reports related to lost and found items, maintenance concerns, and other notes vital for hotel operations.

This position may involve cross-training in laundry, maintenance, and front desk functions, providing diverse opportunities for skill development and career advancement within the company. Housekeepers are expected to adhere to the company’s dress code, maintain a positive and approachable demeanor, and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or customer service preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions
  • Compliance with safety and OSHA protocols

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years in customer service position
  • Desire to clean and organize guest rooms
  • Ability to lift frequently and bend
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Basic communication skills including reading, writing, and comprehension
  • Ability to use a computer for timekeeping and training
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of guest rooms and property areas according to company standards
  • Remove and replace dirty linens and terry, change and make beds, clean bathroom and vanity areas, vacuum and dust
  • Follow proper cleaning procedures based on industry and company standards
  • Greet guests following the 24-7 rule, maintain positive guest relations and handle guest requests
  • Restock and transport cleaning supplies, linens, terry, and amenities to assigned rooms and position securely
  • Maintain organized carts and storerooms
  • Use approved chemicals according to OSHA regulations and company requirements
  • Communicate with front desk staff about room information, maintenance concerns, lost and found items, and discrepancies
  • Inspect room fixtures and accessories and report maintenance issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information
  • Work in non-climate control conditions and carry out physical cleaning tasks
  • Comply with all safety and security protocols
  • Set heating and cooling equipment properly in guest rooms
  • Perform self-inspections and accept quality feedback
  • Maintain accurate notes on daily clean reports
  • Complete timesheets and OSHA compliance tasks
  • Cross train in laundry, maintenance, or front desk if possible
  • Maintain professional dress code and positive attitude
  • Perform other duties as assigned
