The Hotel Housekeeper plays a pivotal role in ensuring the guest rooms and hotel premises are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness. The primary goal of this position is to enhance the overall guest experience through meticulous cleaning, prompt response to guest requests, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Housekeepers are responsible for managing the upkeep of guest rooms, including making beds, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies such as linens, towels, and toiletries. Additionally, the role requires managing cleaning carts and supplies efficiently, and practicing responsible waste disposal and recycling to support environmental sustainability initiatives. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant skills training or certification preferred
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is an asset but not mandatory
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper handling techniques
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and handle equipment

Job Qualifications

  • English literate to meet business needs
  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations on guest floors
  • Flexible with working hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Familiar with chemical usage and cleaning room procedures

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms and attend to guest needs in line with hotel service standards and profitability goals
  • Carry out assigned cleaning duties including making beds, sanitizing bathrooms, dusting surfaces, and vacuuming floors
  • Track and replenish bed linens, towels, and guest toiletries as necessary
  • Fulfill additional extensive cleaning responsibilities as required
  • Stock, maintain, and transport housekeeping supply cart ready for immediate use
  • Practice responsible waste disposal and recycling
  • Respond promptly to guest service requests
