Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a hotel or high-end retail environment desired
  • Ability to work in an alcohol and smoking environment
  • Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board or other regulatory entity
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and directions
  • Ability to lift, push, carry up to 20lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, some sitting, bending, kneeling, and climbing steps

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board or applicable regulatory bodies
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations
  • Basic computer skills
  • Cash handling experience

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services, and hours of operation
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all room types, numbers, layout, décor, appointments, and locations
  • Maintain complete knowledge of room rates, special packages, and promotions
  • Maintain awareness of daily house count and expected arrivals and departures
  • Maintain room availability status for any given day
  • Maintain knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures including front and back of house operations
  • Obtain and secure assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
  • Answer department telephone promptly with correct greeting and telephone etiquette
  • Promote positive guest relations in a congenial manner
  • Process guest check-ins according to hotel requirements including confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and handling walk-ins
  • Handle guest messages, mail, faxes, and inform guests about room keys and amenities
  • Issue parking passes and validate valet parking tickets
  • Obtain proper identification and guest signatures for tax-exempt guests and designated paperwork
  • Coordinate bell person for guest escort and luggage transport
  • Maintain guest history files and communicate VIP arrivals to designated personnel
  • Set up accurate guest accounts and accommodate room changes
  • Document guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately and notify appropriate personnel
  • Offer voicemail system information and manage wake-up call requests
  • Block rooms, pre-register guests, and prepare key packets
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to departments
  • Generate daily and weekly reports
  • Resolve room status discrepancies with housekeeping
  • Process guest check-outs including resolving late charges and presenting folios
  • Handle requests for late check-outs and group check-ins/outs
  • Assist departments and executives with guest and group information
  • Adhere to cashiering procedures including processing adjustment vouchers, making change, posting charges, running closing reports, and securing bank
  • Document information in logbook
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Assist with reservation calls and follow-up
  • Provide concierge services when the concierge is unavailable
  • Assist other front office areas as needed
  • Provide guest room tours
  • Document maintenance needs and submit work orders
