Job Description

Our company has been meticulously built one person at a time, embracing the philosophy that our team members are fundamental to our sustained success. We believe that the cornerstone of superior results begins with hiring and training good people and continues by supporting and retaining them. We pride ourselves on constructing cohesive teams that inspire collaboration and promote multiple opportunities for growth, professional development, and leadership. As we continue to expand and uphold our reputation within the hospitality industry, we remain committed to nurturing a workplace culture that values integrity, passion, and excellence.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager for one of our full-service hotel properties. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Hotel Operations, this pivotal role carries the responsibility of managing day-to-day hotel operations to meet strategic financial and human resource goals while operating within company and brand standards. The General Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the physical condition of the hotel and ensuring the protection of the owner’s assets, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and team members.

The ideal candidate is expected to lead the hotel through effective sales, marketing, and revenue management strategies to achieve targeted Room Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) index goals, overall room revenue targets, and total revenue objectives. Engaging actively in daily and weekly revenue strategy meetings, the General Manager supports ongoing sales efforts, participates in market analysis, and promptly adjusts strategy in response to market changes. A deep understanding of the local market environment is essential, including the ability to identify and nurture relationships with key accounts and influencers who impact demand drivers.

In addition to revenue generation, the role involves stringent financial and accounting oversight. This includes managing costs to reach gross operating profit (GOP) targets, producing accurate and timely revenue and profit forecasts, evaluating financial statements with variance analysis, ensuring compliance with company accounting procedures, and maintaining a strong internal control environment.

Planning responsibilities encompass the development of annual business plans, incorporating operating budgets, sales and marketing plans, and capital improvement plans. The General Manager will also oversee tenant operations, particularly in high-volume food and beverage areas such as restaurants, bars, banquets, and breakfast services, ensuring brand compliance and contractual obligations are met to maximize profitability.

Guest satisfaction and team member engagement are top priorities. The General Manager will engage directly with guests and staff to drive positive experiences, meet satisfaction benchmarks, and enhance team morale. They will also lead preventive maintenance and deep cleaning initiatives to uphold the hotel's pristine condition, conducting regular property inspections, including guestrooms. Leadership extends to hiring, training, supervising, and counseling departmental managers to ensure operational excellence.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, insurance, and brand quality inspections. The General Manager will oversee the human resources function, cultivating positive team member relations through recruiting, coaching, discipline, and recognition programs. They will adhere to all local, state, federal, and brand-specific life safety policies and labor laws, including OSHA, EEOC, and wage-hour regulations. The position demands a commitment to energy efficiency and effective communication, demonstrated by conducting various staff meetings and maintaining professional standards related to appearance, grooming, attendance, and operational safety.

In summary, the General Manager position in this vibrant company offers an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated, organized, and communicative professional to lead a thriving hotel operation to new heights. This role demands a broad skill set covering sales, financial prudence, staff leadership, and guest service excellence — all essential for maintaining our company's reputation for quality and commitment to employee and guest satisfaction.
