With a strong focus on patriotism and a commitment to exemplary service, American Cruise Lines has solidified its reputation as a distinct choice for travelers seeking a memorable maritime adventure. The company operates with values of optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit, which deeply influence its culture, customer service, and employee relations. The organization is continuously expanding and refining its fleet and operations, making it a promising opportunity for professionals who want to grow with a reputable and dedicated cruise line within the United States.

The Hotel General Manager role at American Cruise Lines is a prestigious and critical leadership position on board their vessels. This role involves managing the entire hotel operations and ensuring an exceptional guest experience throughout the cruise. The Hotel General Manager is the senior hotel officer responsible for overseeing hospitality, customer service, housekeeping, and food service operations. This position is highly focused on maintaining service excellence and superior guest satisfaction, a key metric of success for the company. Duties include assessing management team performance, responding promptly to guest needs, resolving issues smoothly, overseeing food quality and culinary operations, managing housekeeping standards, handling business transactions and reporting, and facilitating crew morale and training.

Beyond operational oversight, the role requires a hands-on presence during meal services, cocktail hours, and onboard events to ensure the highest standards are consistently met. The General Manager also plays an essential part in coordinating staff efforts to create achievable and measurable goals that enhance the guest’s cruise experience. Physical demands of the job include managing daily ship inspections, performing bartending duties if needed, fulfilling roles during emergency situations, and adapting to the physical environment of working on a moving vessel. This is a full-time exempt position involving travel with a schedule that typically consists of 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by weeks off. Candidates must be willing to live and work aboard the ship, capable of physical activity such as lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.

Compensation includes a competitive daily rate along with benefits such as health, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.
