Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 1 year general manager experience or 2 years management experience with at least 1 year in hospitality
  • valid motor vehicle operator’s license in good standing
  • ability to work required shifts
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to operate office equipment and PMS software
  • ability to lead a team
  • capability to analyze financial statements
  • commitment to ongoing professional development
  • adherence to company and franchise standards
  • compliance with federal and state personnel laws

  • willingness to travel and occasionally drive

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred
  • previous experience as a general manager in a similar hotel preferred
  • minimum 1 year experience as general manager or 2 years management experience including hospitality
  • proven track record of increasing profit while exceeding brand and corporate goals
  • effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • ability to operate office equipment and PMS software
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • proficiency in Google Apps preferred
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • ability to read and analyze financial reports
  • bilingual Spanish and English preferred
  • ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • local market experience preferred
  • ability to learn and adhere to brand standards
  • ability to manage interdepartmental relationships

Job Duties

  • Ensures attainment of established budgeted goals for all departments
  • monitors compliance with labor standards and staffing guidelines
  • conducts required meetings to ensure communication and coordination
  • audits departmental procedures and modifies as needed
  • monitors rooms inventory and merchandising procedures
  • conducts competitive rate surveys and program analysis
  • ensures compliance with franchise and company standards
  • participates in asset management and inspection meetings
  • exceeds brand quality standards and ensures favorable franchise inspection
  • completes planned capital and repair items
  • conducts daily and bi-weekly property inspections with action plans
  • promotes guest satisfaction and evaluates complaints
  • monitors guest responses and implements corrective actions
  • fosters community relations to maintain positive hotel image
  • recruits, trains, and counsels employees
  • ensures onboarding and adequate staffing
  • maintains associate files and compliance with policies
  • promotes internal advancement and employee engagement
  • ensures legal compliance in personnel practices and safety
  • processes and reconciles payroll
  • pursues continuous management training and development
  • maintains professional image and communication at all times
  • greets guests and coworkers warmly
  • actively listens and responds to guest concerns
  • fosters teamwork and assists others as needed
  • monitors cleanliness and safety and reports issues
  • follows safety guidelines and procedures
