Job Requirements
- Three years minimum experience in a maintenance-type position
- Ability to communicate operational activities and priorities with management and supervisors
- Knowledge of common equipment malfunction causes
- Ability to repair and replace heating and air conditioner systems
- Skills to perform basic painting and caulking
- Ability to use standard hand tools
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques
- Ability to perform tests on hotel equipment
- Knowledge of pool and spa chemical testing
- Knowledge of handling fire equipment
- Expertise in construction trades desired
- Previous hotel experience desired
- Physical capability to climb stairs, walk 10,000 steps daily, use power tools, lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to kneel, stand, work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions and access high or confined spaces
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance-type position
- Excellent communication skills for reporting operational activities and issues with management
- Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunction
- Ability to repair and replace basic heating and air conditioning systems
- Proficient in painting and caulking skills
- Skilled in using standard hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and hammers
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance methods and techniques
- Ability to perform operational tests of hotel equipment
- Knowledge of pool and spa chemical testing
- Understanding of handling fire safety equipment
- Experienced expertise in construction trades is highly desired
- Previous hotel maintenance experience is highly preferred
- Physical ability to perform tasks including climbing stairs, walking extensive distances, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions
Job Duties
- Work independently and monitor the operations and functions of the interior and exterior areas of the property
- Follow established guidelines to ensure the ongoing protection of company assets, associates, and guests
- Promote enhanced guest satisfaction by offering professional and friendly interactions
- Perform a variety of engineering and construction trade skills related to preventive maintenance and repairs in a timely and efficient manner
- Interact with employees and guests using proficient communication skills
- Help promote a collaborative, proactive, and interactive environment with other hotel associates
- Follow all safety protocols when using tools and equipment and ensure proper storage
- Embrace the McKibbon Guiding Principles in all work activities
