The role available at Flying Horse Resort and Club is a Front Desk Supervisor position, a vital role responsible for overseeing the front desk operations and ensuring the highest standards of service are consistently met. This position involves supervising front desk staff, leading by example, and engaging with both staff members and guests in a friendly and professional manner. The Front Desk Supervisor acts as a key player in daily operations, providing necessary guidance and support to staff while addressing the needs of guests and members. Key responsibilities include monitoring day-to-day front desk activities, performing cashier duties such as posting charges and balancing the cash drawer, training and supervising staff to maintain guest satisfaction, and assisting guests as needed.

Additional duties include coordinating with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned and inspected on time, maintaining front desk and housekeeping supplies, managing reservations including making, confirming, and canceling bookings, and handling group blocks and rooming lists. The supervisor is also tasked with scheduling front desk and guest services staff, responding to tasks assigned by management, and maintaining open lines of communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations throughout the lodge.   • Prior Front Desk Supervisor experience desired

Job Duties

  • Follow direction from management as a team player to complete the required tasks
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage or safety hazards to appropriate department and follow through to final resolution
  • Perform cashier functions to include posting of charges, make change and balance cashier drawer
  • Train and supervise front desk staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Report any staff concerns to management
  • Assist in guest services where needed
  • Follow established key control policy
  • Ensure proper credit policies are followed
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping to make sure rooms are cleaned and inspected for arrivals
  • Maintain lodge supplies for the Front Desk and Housekeeping
  • Assist guests with all needs and resolve guest issues
  • Oversee the housekeeping team including schedules, inspections, orders and special projects
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by manager
  • Make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all employees within all departments
  • Provide solutions to problems for guests, associates and management using empowerment to exceed associate/guest expectations and resolve conflicts
  • Responsible for group blocks and rooming lists
  • Assist in training new staff members
  • Scheduling Front Desk and Guest Services staff
