The newly built Tru by Hilton located in Norwalk, Iowa, is an exciting addition to the hospitality landscape of the region. Situated ideally off I-35, this hotel benefits from its proximity to major attractions such as the Gregg Young Sports Campus, The Legacy Golf Club, and the Norwalk-McAninch Sports Complex. Additionally, the Des Moines International Airport is only five miles away, and Blank Park Zoo is an 11-minute drive, making it a convenient location for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Hotel Front Desk Supervisor, also referred to as Hotel Front Office Supervisor or Hotel Guest Service Supervisor. This role is integral to the hotel’s daily operations and guest experience. Candidates will have the opportunity to join the opening team and contribute to establishing the hotel’s reputation for outstanding customer service and operational excellence.
As a Hotel Front Desk Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing front desk operations while ensuring guests receive a warm welcome, efficient check-in and check-out experiences, and prompt resolution of inquiries and concerns. This leadership role involves supervising daily front office activities, maintaining service standards, handling reservations, overseeing cash management procedures, and collaborating with various hotel departments to meet guest expectations. You will also oversee staff training, enforce hotel policies, manage shifts, and handle special situations such as audits and staffing shortages.

Job Duties
- Assist guests with check-in and check-out processes efficiently ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
- Supervise day-to-day front desk operations maintaining high service standards
- Handle cash management procedures including proper documentation of over and short
- Enforce hotel policies related to hiring disciplinary actions and training documentation
- Cover short-staffed front office shifts including performing audits
- Manage room reservations cancellations and modifications accurately maintaining up-to-date records
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries complaints and special requests exceeding guest expectations
- Process payment transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies
- Coordinate with housekeeping maintenance and other departments to address guest needs and resolve issues
- Provide guests with information about hotel services amenities local attractions and transportation options
- Resolve guest concerns or complaints escalating issues when necessary to maintain satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records of guest stays payments and interactions in the property management system
- Promote hotel amenities including upselling rooms dining options and event spaces
