Job Description
TownePlace Suites by Marriott is a renowned hotel brand that provides comfortable and spacious accommodations tailored for extended stays. Located conveniently near the Charlotte airport and the bustling Billy Graham Parkway, this hotel caters to both business and leisure travelers seeking a welcoming and hospitable environment. The brand is part of the Marriott International family, which is known globally for its commitment to quality, guest satisfaction, and excellent service standards. At TownePlace Suites, guests enjoy amenities designed to make their stays as convenient and pleasant as possible, including kitchen facilities, fitness centers, and friendly, attentive staff members. The hotel’s proximity to major transportation hubs and local attractions makes it an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore Charlotte while having a reliable home base for their visit.
Currently, TownePlace Suites by Marriott is hiring part-time Front Desk Associates who will be the first point of contact for guests entering the hotel. This important role involves managing all aspects of a guest’s accommodation from check-in to check-out, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and well cared for throughout their stay. The position requires individuals who demonstrate flexibility, as shifts may vary and include weekdays, weekends, and different times throughout the day. Being part-time, this role offers a great opportunity for those who are seeking employment with flexible hours within a respected hospitality environment.
As a Front Desk Associate, you will be expected to play a pivotal role in creating an exceptional and memorable experience for every guest. This requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor to establish a positive first impression and ongoing rapport. The role involves greeting guests warmly, efficiently completing check-in and check-out processes, and providing detailed information about room categories, rates, and hotel amenities. Additionally, promoting the hotel’s loyalty programs and marketing initiatives is a significant part of the role, as is promptly answering inquiries both in person and via phone.
In this position, your ability to actively listen and resolve guest complaints or concerns is essential, with a focus on empathy and quick resolution to maintain guest satisfaction. Candidates must also be comfortable using computerized reservation systems and possess adequate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel. Experience with hotel-specific reservation systems such as Lightspeed, FOSSE, or OnQ is advantageous.
The working environment is predominantly indoors, with employees required to spend most of their shift standing or walking. Key duties include handling monetary transactions and maintaining a calm, professional attitude even during challenging interactions. Fluency in English and the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing are mandatory, as is a willingness to work varying shifts necessary to meet operational needs.
Joining TownePlace Suites by Marriott as a Front Desk Associate means becoming part of a team dedicated to hospitality excellence. This role offers the chance to develop valuable customer service and hospitality skills while contributing to a warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines the Marriott brand. Individuals seeking a dynamic, guest-facing role with opportunities for flexible part-time work in an acclaimed hotel setting will find this position rewarding and professionally fulfilling.
