The Embassy Suites by Hilton near the Charlotte Airport is currently seeking motivated and customer-oriented individuals for the position of part-time Front Desk Associate. This role is integral to the hotel's operations as front desk associates serve as the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them and managing their accommodation experience. The position offers flexible shifts between 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm, covering both weekdays and weekends, thus requiring availability during these times. Candidates will benefit from daily pay options, allowing access to up to 50% of earned wages after every shift, providing financial flexibility.
As a Front Desk Associate, you will be the face of the hotel, responsible not only for greeting guests warmly but also for conducting check-in and check-out procedures according to brand standards. Your role involves accurate registration, room assignment, processing payments, and providing detailed information about the hotel's services and the local area. You will also be expected to promote hotel packages, loyalty programs, and special promotions through up-selling techniques.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a cheerful and positive demeanor, and strong attention to detail. Experience in hotel reservation systems like Lightspeed, FOSSE, or OnQ is advantageous, along with competency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Your ability to handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with tact and professionalism will ensure guests have a positive and memorable stay.
This position demands physical stamina for standing and walking during the entire shift and the mental acuity to manage transactions, customer interactions, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and the ability to communicate clearly in both spoken and written forms are essential.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience as a hotel front desk agent
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Availability to work 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm shifts
- Weekend availability required
- Ability to stand and walk throughout entire shift
- Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing
- Ability to handle payments and use hotel reservation systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- One year experience working as a hotel front desk agent
- Competent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience using hotel reservation systems such as Lightspeed, FOSSE or OnQ is a plus
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Friendly and customer service oriented
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work weekends
Job Duties
- Greet guests at check-in with a smile and warm welcome, complete registration process by entering and retrieving information from system, confirm guest information and identity, refer to guest by name, confirm room rate and type, assign room, code electronic keys, acknowledge loyalty status, promote marketing programs, provide welcome information, ensure guest knows location of room and elevator
- Greet guests at check-out with a smile and warm greeting, complete check-out process including verifying charges and payment method, process payment, print or email folio, document guests preferences by updating profile
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information including room categories, rates, packages, promotions and local area, answer guest questions and inquiries
- Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services, facilities and loyalty program benefits
- Follow acceptable phone etiquette by answering promptly, using polite greeting and offering assistance
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and efficiently
- Use attentive and active listening skills to handle guest complaints, apologize, empathize and take action, escalate to manager if necessary
- Complete designated start and end-of-shift tasks and reports
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify credit card data
