Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • one year of hotel or retail customer service experience preferred
  • ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • professional communication skills
  • mathematical aptitude preferred
  • problem solving and organizational skills preferred
  • experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems
  • willingness to obtain ServSafe certification
  • may require TIPS certification
  • valid driver’s license
  • frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
  • ability to carry, lift, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • handling objects and equipment frequently
  • standing for extended periods
  • availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
  • previous extended stay industry background preferred
  • fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills
  • additional language skills beneficial
  • professional verbal and written communication skills
  • basic mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred
  • problem solving, reasoning, motivation, organizational, and training abilities preferred
  • experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
  • ability to obtain ServSafe certification
  • ability to obtain TIPS certification may be required
  • valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all guest interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
  • register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations
  • answer phones promptly and courteously
  • accurately process all cash and credit card transactions, including posting charges, completing reports, preparing deposits, and securing assigned bank
  • maintain the security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information
  • book guest reservations for individuals and groups, process cancellations and revisions, and up-sell rooms to maximize revenue
  • follow seasonal demand reservation strategies as directed by hotel management
  • promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other shifts and management
  • service the shoppe and pour ensuring guests receive products and services while complying with alcohol sale laws
  • fulfill guest special requests and ensure proper delivery of guest services
  • issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes
  • comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services
  • perform other duties as assigned
