The Full-Time Hotel Engineer role at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel is a critical position within the Engineering & Facilities department. This non-management role offers an hourly pay ranging from $24.64 to $26.49, providing competitive compensation for skilled maintenance professionals. The engineer will be responsible for addressing various maintenance and repair requests coming from hotel guests, ensuring timely and efficient resolution with minimal supervision. This role requires the technician to perform preventive maintenance duties on tools and equipment, including lubrication and cleaning, while maintaining an inventory of parts and ordering supplies as necessary.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency across multiple technical categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical and plumbing repairs, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment maintenance, vehicle upkeep, energy conservation, and general building management. They must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing systems, and electrical devices, as well as perform painting, drywall, and wood trim repairs. Working knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management is essential, along with the ability to train and mentor junior engineers and undertake Engineer on Duty responsibilities.

Candidates must adhere to safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, and uphold professional standards in personal appearance and confidentiality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background preferred
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • open availability preferred
  • ability to work full time

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
