Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
- Valid Driver’s License
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Ability to work evening shifts with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification and licensing requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Vocational or technical background
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
- Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- Valid Driver’s License
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools
- Solid troubleshooting skills in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
- Ability to perform basic plumbing repairs including soldering
- Ability to train and mentor junior engineers
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
- Mentor and train junior engineers
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair
- Use Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work
- Operate engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- Provide courteous and professional guest service according to company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of self and work areas
