Job Description
JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa is a renowned luxury resort located in Scottsdale, Arizona, known for its exceptional hospitality services and stunning desert surroundings. As part of the Marriott International family, this resort offers a premier experience combining comfort, elegance, and a full range of amenities to both leisure and business travelers. The property features beautifully designed guest rooms, exquisite dining options, event spaces, and numerous recreational activities, all aimed at delivering a world-class guest experience. JW Marriott is committed to maintaining the highest standards in service and facility upkeep, creating a welcoming environment for guests from around the globe.
The Full-Time Maintenance Technician role at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa is a critical position within the Engineering & Facilities department. This non-management role is designed for a hands-on professional skilled in various maintenance functions to ensure the seamless operation of the resort’s facilities and guest areas. The position offers a competitive pay of $23.95 per hour and is based on-site in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a Maintenance Technician, the candidate will be responsible for responding promptly to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance tasks on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical systems, and conducting routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
This position requires a broad knowledge of trades including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment repairs. The technician will be expected to troubleshoot and fix a variety of equipment issues, operate shut-off valves safely, and maintain inventory standards by requisitioning parts as necessary. Daily communication with other shifts and proper documentation of work performed are also vital aspects of this role.
Safety is a paramount concern, and the technician must follow all company safety and security protocols, including the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work. Additional responsibilities include performing minor carpentry and drywall repairs, painting, replacing light bulbs and air conditioning filters, and maintaining the landscaping and irrigation systems. Basic computer skills are required for tasks such as inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures. The role demands the ability to lift and move heavy objects, maneuver stairs, service ramps, and ladders, and maintain a professional appearance while providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will also foster positive working relationships within the team and adhere to the company's quality and service standards.
This position is ideal for applicants with some related work experience in general maintenance and surface preparation. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance will be considered a plus, and a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. While supervisory experience is not necessary, a proactive, detail-oriented, and communicative individual who enjoys working in a dynamic and guest-focused environment will thrive in this role.
