The reservation agent role at Boyd Gaming is a critical position within the hotel and casino environment. This role involves the operation of hotel reservation systems such as LMS and CMS, along with interfacing with the Revenue Management System (ARMS), to efficiently manage customer bookings. The reservation agent works closely with Marketing and other departments to coordinate special event reservations and ensure seamless communication with executive hosts and guests. Duties include greeting guests, managing check-in and check-out procedures, and facilitating reservations for various events including gaming tournaments and parties.
This position requires an individual who possesses comprehensive knowledge of hotel policies, room types, availability, and rates, as well as a solid understanding of credit card transactions and money handling procedures. Effective communication skills are essential, as the role demands interaction with guests, marketing teams, food and beverage departments, and other hotel staff, ensuring the highest level of customer service. The reservation agent must also be capable of handling emergency situations in accordance with established protocols and providing accurate information about the property and events.
Emphasizing precision and professionalism, the role requires accurate operation of multiple computer systems, including LMS, HotSOS, CMS, and RMS, to make informed decisions about discounted, comped, or full-rate room reservations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hotel reservations or customer service preferred
- Ability to handle money accurately and follow established procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary certifications or licenses as required by local gaming regulations
- Ability to operate multiple reservation and management systems
- Ability to type accurately
- Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Ability to add, subtract and audit accounts
- Ability to handle money accurately and follow established procedures
- Ability to operate LMS, CMS and RMS computer systems and read computer screens
- Ability to type accurately on a computer keyboard
- Knowledge of credit card transactions using electronic draft system
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications or licenses as required by local gaming regulations
Job Duties
- Greet hotel guests
- Communicate with Executive Hosts regarding hotel stays
- Assist Marketing Dept. and Player Dept. in making reservations for special events, gaming tournaments and parties
- Assist Food & Beverage Dept. with reservations for food outlets
- Access LMS, HotSOS, and CMS systems and make informed decisions regarding comped, discounted and full rate rooms for hotel guests
- Possess knowledge of rates, room types, room availability, hotel policies and procedures
- Answer and accurately direct incoming phone calls through the property’s telephone system
- Accurately record and distribute messages as needed
- Use the public address system to page and make announcements as appropriate
- Screen calls for staff as requested
- Provide accurate information regarding the property, company, events, and promotions
- Respond to emergency calls/situations according to established protocol
- Answer guest questions regarding hotel, casino and community
- Check guests into the hotel while verifying reservation information
- Check guests out of hotel and assure billing is accurate
- Provide exceptional guest service
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
