The Catering Manager role is based at the prestigious Embassy Suites by Hilton property near Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This 274-room all-suite hotel offers an impressive 12,528 square feet of event space, including 9 event rooms complemented by on-site catering services. As the Catering Manager, you will be primarily responsible for driving top-line catering revenue, ensuring that sales targets and budget expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Your leadership will be pivotal in selling and servicing a broad spectrum of events, spanning both social and corporate markets.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years direct catering sales experience
- college degree or equivalent sales experience
- proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- capable of working varied hours including weekends
- valid driver's license
- ability to conduct site tours and client meetings
- fluency in English
- ability to work indoors and stand for extended periods
- knowledge of hotel emergency procedures
- customer service orientation
Job Qualifications
- Direct catering sales experience (2-3 years minimum)
- college degree and/or equivalent sales experience required
- Delphi experience is preferred
- excellent guest relations skills
- fluent in basic computer skills to include Word and Excel in business format
- fluent in electronic communications (email)
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work as team player with all levels of hotel staff
- valid driver's license
Job Duties
- Responsible for selling and servicing events both social and corporate as well as generate catering revenue
- achieve personal and hotel goals
- qualify all leads and inquiries as well as prospect new catering business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, internet prospecting
- follow up on all inquiries
- develop and implement a catering action plan
- negotiate services and prices to maximize revenue and profitability
- responsible for menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel meeting service
- finalize and detail catering plans for groups contracted by assigned Sales Manager
- review contracts and facilitating commutation before, during and post event with hotel staff
- conduct site tours
- maintain strong customer relations
- assist with developing and maintaining the business/marketing plan with Sales Team, Marketing Director, Corporate Director of Sales and General Manager
- participate in joint sales calls with the Sales Team and General Manager
- establish and maintain close contact with top and target accounts through phone calls, appointments, tours, written correspondence and entertainment
- assess future and current needs of the client
- assist with rate and services decisions
- attend weekly sales and BEO meetings
- complete weekly and monthly sales call reports and submit to General Manager, Corporate Director of Sales and Vice-President of Operations and Sales
- build and maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients and local community
- maintain accurate sales database and files, and trace system on top and target accounts
- responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures
- must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- maintain brand standards
