Job Description
Aloft Cupertino and Aloft San Jose Cupertino are contemporary Marriott-branded hotels nestled in the vibrant heart of Silicon Valley. Managed by the Shashi Group, a hospitality-focused management company, these locations offer a modern, tech-forward environment that combines stylish design with exceptional guest experiences. The hotels feature W XYZ Bar, a dynamic and social bar concept known for its energetic atmosphere and innovative beverage offerings. As part of the Marriott portfolio, both hotels uphold high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction while fostering a supportive and team-oriented work culture.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Bartender to join our lively W XYZ Bar team. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic, guest-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting and is passionate about delivering outstanding service. The shift schedule is Monday through Friday, providing an ideal work-life balance for those looking to contribute their skills in a part-time capacity. The position offers competitive pay at $20 per hour plus tips, reflecting the value we place on skilled bartenders who help create memorable guest experiences.
The Part-Time Bartender will be responsible for preparing, mixing, garnishing, and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that meet brand standards. This role demands strong attention to detail and a comprehensive knowledge of cocktail recipes, wines, beers, and spirits. The bartender will engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, offering recommendations, and upselling premium beverages to enhance the guest’s experience at the W XYZ Bar.
Additionally, bartenders will maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area, ensuring operational efficiency during all shifts. Using the Micros POS system, they will efficiently handle order entries, check presentations, and payment processing. Compliance with California liquor laws and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) guidelines is vital to ensure a safe and legal environment, which includes monitoring guest behavior and responsibly refusing service when appropriate, such as in cases of intoxication or underage drinking.
The role also involves staying knowledgeable about menu items, daily specials, and hotel amenities to promote a positive guest experience. Bartenders are expected to anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service, maintaining professionalism even during busy periods. Supporting monthly inventory checks and bar organization initiatives will be part of the job to maintain smooth operations.
Joining the Aloft Cupertino and Aloft San Jose Cupertino teams means becoming part of a dynamic work environment where employee growth and guest satisfaction are top priorities. The Shashi Group fosters a culture of inclusivity and equal opportunity, encouraging diversity and selecting candidates based solely on qualifications relevant to the job. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hospitality management skills and grow within a respected company in the heart of Silicon Valley.
