Job Description

Aloft Cupertino and Aloft San Jose Cupertino, part of the modern Marriott-branded hotels located in the heart of Silicon Valley, offer a vibrant and dynamic environment for both guests and staff. These hotels are known for their contemporary design, innovative spirit, and commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences. They feature the trendy W XYZ Bar, a social hub that combines an energetic atmosphere with high-quality beverage service. Owned and managed by the Shashi Group, which focuses on hospitality excellence and employee growth, these Aloft hotels are a preferred destination for travelers and locals alike. The locations provide not only a comfortable stay but also a space where tech-forward innovation meets welcoming service, reflecting the Silicon Valley lifestyle and its fast-paced culture.

The role of Part-Time Bartender at the W XYZ Bar is essential in delivering the hotel's promise of outstanding guest service and memorable experiences. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting and has a passion for mixing drinks and engaging with guests. The bartender will work weekday shifts, Monday through Friday, offering a reliable yet flexible schedule suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment. Compensation is competitive at $20 per hour plus tips, reflecting both the skill and dedication required in this role.

As a Part-Time Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing, mixing, garnishing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the brand standards of the Marriott and W XYZ Bar. Customer interaction is a priority; you'll provide exceptional, friendly, and professional service to patrons, making recommendations, taking orders, and upselling menu items to enhance their overall experience. Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar is vital to ensuring smooth operations during all shifts.

Operational tasks include proficient use of the Micros POS system for order entry, payment processing, and check presentation. Being knowledgeable of the California liquor laws and Responsible Beverage Service standards is mandatory to guarantee compliance and uphold a safe service environment. Monitoring guests’ behavior responsibly and refusing service to intoxicated persons or minors are critical aspects of this position. An intimate knowledge of the beverage menu, drink recipes, and daily specials will enable you to anticipate guest needs and provide outstanding service even during busy periods.

Joining the Aloft Cupertino and Aloft San Jose Cupertino team means being part of a tech-forward, social bar concept offering opportunities for career growth within a hospitality-focused management group. The Shashi Group fosters a supportive and team-driven culture, emphasizing employee development alongside delivering top-tier guest experiences. These are excellent environments for individuals excited about working in a modern hospitality setting and eager to contribute to the success of a renowned hotel brand while honing their bartending skills and hospitality knowledge.
