Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field is preferred
- Previous experience in banquet operations preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong understanding of banquet service techniques event set-up and food and beverage operations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional leadership abilities including capability to motivate and guide a team
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests colleagues and event planners
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Knowledge of health safety and sanitation regulations pertaining to banquet operations
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used for event planning and management
- Must have a flexible work schedule
Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of banquet events including set-up service and breakdown to ensure smooth operations and timely execution
- Supervise and lead the banquet staff including servers bartenders and other event personnel assigning duties providing guidance and proper training to maintain a high standard of service
- Ensure guest satisfaction by monitoring service quality addressing concerns or issues promptly and making appropriate adjustments to enhance the guest experience
- Oversee the proper arrangement of tables chairs linens and other event equipment according to event specifications coordinating with hotel operations and maintenance teams to ensure timely set-up and efficient use of resources
- Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders maintaining knowledge of menu items wine selections and other offerings to assist guests and address inquiries
- Maintain clear and effective communication with event planners hotel staff and other departments to ensure proper coordination and seamless event execution relaying event details special requests and changes to relevant team members
- Ensure adherence to all health safety and sanitation regulations during events monitoring staff compliance with food handling procedures alcohol service guidelines and other relevant protocols
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that arise during events such as last-minute changes equipment malfunctions or guest complaints making quick decisions and implementing effective solutions to ensure the event’s success
- Assist with administrative duties including event invoicing inventory management and report generation maintaining accurate records of event details guest feedback and incidents
- Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance banquet staff skills and knowledge providing coaching and feedback to encourage professional growth and ensure a high-performing team
