Job Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to walk, stand, or bend for long periods of time while performing essential job duties
- For California based positions, Responsible Beverage Service Certifications required (can be completed during training and up to 60 days after start date)
- Willingness to comply with company policies including drug and alcohol-free workplace
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to complete Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Responsible Beverage Service Certification for California positions (can be completed during training)
Job Duties
- Making a memorable first and last impression
- Greeting incoming and departing guests in a welcoming manner
- Seating the guest in the dining and bar areas while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
- Coordinating the wait and seating guests with a sense of urgency
- Always smiling and having genuine conversations with guests
- Having a general knowledge of the food and drink menu and recommending and upselling products
- Answering the phone in a prompt and professional manner and directing calls
- Assisting throughout the restaurant by bussing tables, delivering food and bar beverages, assisting with guests, and ensuring every opportunity to WOW a customer is completed
- Leading the lobby experience for each guest following Outback hospitality standards
- Committed to safe food handling, cleanliness, safety and sanitation standards during the shift
