Job Description
Outback Steakhouse is a renowned Australian-themed restaurant that has been serving customers since its inception in March of 1988. As part of the Out West Restaurant Group, the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, this establishment prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences where food is taken seriously but fun is never forgotten. The company culture focuses on respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm, creating a workplace environment that values its employees, affectionately called "Outbackers." Recognized for outstanding community service with the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022, Outback Steakhouse continuously strives to provide a culture of respect and care for both its guests and staff.
Joining Outback Steakhouse as a Host/Server Assistant offers more than just a job—it opens the door to a fulfilling career where employees are treated "Just Right," ensuring success follows naturally. This role involves being the first and last impression for guests, greeting and seating them in both dining and bar areas, coordinating wait times efficiently, and delivering friendly, attentive service that enhances each guest’s experience. The Host/Server Assistant is expected to engage with guests through genuine conversation, upsell menu items with knowledge and confidence, and provide team support across the restaurant, including bussing tables and delivering food and beverages. Outback Steakhouse emphasizes a safe, clean, and welcoming environment and expects all employees to adhere to these standards.
This position is full-time with a competitive starting pay of $16.50 per hour. Employees benefit from an array of perks such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and meal compensation when eligible. Additionally, the restaurant values work-life balance by closing on Thanksgiving and Christmas days so employees can spend quality time with their families and friends. The company encourages a culture of teamwork and hospitality brilliance, providing consistent training opportunities to ensure each Outbacker can perform their role to the best of their ability. The Host/Server Assistant will also be responsible for answering phone calls professionally and contributing to a seamless dining experience that leaves a lasting impression on every guest.
Outback Steakhouse is committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Furthermore, the company maintains a strict workplace policy against the use of drugs and alcohol and values a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all team members. Candidates needing accommodations to perform essential job functions are encouraged to notify the company to ensure an inclusive hiring process. By joining Outback Steakhouse, candidates become part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering unmatched hospitality and a memorable dining experience, all while advancing their career in a supportive and engaging environment.
