Job Description
Watermark BR is a distinguished part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, offering a unique and historic hospitality experience located in downtown Baton Rouge. As a hotel, it combines exquisite architectural heritage with contemporary elegance. The property was originally constructed in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first skyscraper and served as the Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank headquarters for more than five decades. Its exquisite Art Deco design, interwoven with Greek Revival elements, creates a one-of-a-kind ambiance that guests find both charming and culturally significant. The hotel prominently features original murals by New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, grand marble walls, and a historic staircase leading down to the bank vaults, all contributing to its standing as a landmark in Baton Rouge overlooking the Mississippi River.
The role of Outlet Hostperson at Watermark BR is a part-time opportunity reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager. This position is pivotal in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests as they enter the dining outlets. The Outlet Hostperson is responsible for promptly recognizing and seating guests, assisting servers, and helping maintain a seamless and memorable dining experience. Additionally, the role requires supporting the cashier with processing payments and preparing end-of-shift reports. Ideal candidates should maintain a high standard of personal appearance and demonstrate attentiveness to guests' needs.
This position demands excellent interpersonal skills, a service-oriented attitude, and the ability to work efficiently within a team. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and experience in fine dining is preferred. The Outlet Hostperson will also be expected to handle reservations professionally and possess or acquire ABC and RV permits as required by the establishment. Watermark BR emphasizes a friendly and respectful interaction with both guests and colleagues, ensuring everyone enjoys their experience in the outlets. This part-time role offers an enriching environment in a historic setting with competitive pay and a broad range of benefits for eligible employees.
