The role we are offering is pivotal in ensuring that each guest's visit is memorable and enjoyable, characterized by friendly, prompt, and personalized service. As a Host/Server Assistant at Outback Steakhouse, you will be the welcoming face and first point of contact for our patrons. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests with genuine warmth, managing seating arrangements efficiently in both dining and bar areas, and ensuring a seamless transition to the service team. Your knowledge of our menu will be crucial in recommending dishes and drinks that fit the guests' preferences, enhancing the overall dining experience through strategic upselling. This position requires a proactive approach to hospitality, including entertaining guests during wait times with beverages and food tastings when appropriate. You will also be expected to handle phone inquiries promptly and professionally, directing calls to the correct departments as needed. Beyond these front-of-house duties, you will support the team by bussing tables, delivering food and beverages, and assisting guests to make sure every opportunity to impress and delight is realized. Job Qualifications

  • basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming and departing guests in a welcoming manner
  • seat guests in dining and bar areas ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
  • have a general knowledge of food and drink menu and recommend and upsell products
  • entertain wait times with hospitality including beverages and food tastings
  • answer phones promptly and professionally and direct calls as necessary
  • assist throughout the restaurant by bussing tables, delivering food and beverages, and supporting guests
  • commit to safe food handling, cleanliness, safety and sanitation standards during shifts
