The position at Outback Steakhouse involves delivering exceptional service by exceeding customer expectations through friendly, prompt, and attentive care tailored to individual guest preferences. The role embodies the philosophy of "No Rules, Just Right," encouraging employees to take initiative and make things happen efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities include warmly greeting guests upon arrival and departure, seating them comfortably in dining and bar areas, and ensuring smooth transitions to the service staff. Candidates are expected to have a good understanding of the food and beverage menu to recommend options and upsell products tastefully. Additionally, the Host/Server Assistant will entertain guests during wait times by offering hospitality such as beverages and food tastings when appropriate. Responsibilities also encompass managing telephone calls professionally and directing inquiries accordingly. Teamwork forms the backbone of daily operations, with employees contributing beyond their specific roles by bussing tables, delivering food and drinks, assisting guests, and consistently seeking opportunities to wow customers. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- excellent verbal communication skills
- positive and friendly attitude
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
