Job Description

Willow & Ivy Host at The Lenox Hotel offers a unique opportunity to be part of a historic and beloved independent hotel located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Established since 1900, The Lenox has built a reputation for its rich character, creativity, and unwavering commitment to genuine hospitality. This hotel stands out for its ability to make guests feel at home during their stay, becoming a cherished retreat for travelers. The Lenox prides itself on empowering its team to exceed guest expectations by delivering thoughtful and memorable service, ultimately creating an exceptional experience for every visitor.

The role of a part-time Host at Willow & Ivy is integral to achieving this high standard of hospitality. This position is designed for individuals who are energetic, curious, and passionate about food, drink, and engaging conversations. Working as a Host in this environment means thriving in a fast-paced setting, connecting with diverse guests, and contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere. Hospitality here is regarded as both an art and a team effort, where every interaction helps create a welcoming and memorable dining experience.

As a Host at The Lenox, you will go beyond traditional greeting and seating duties. You will set the tone for the entire dining experience, ensuring that guests feel welcomed from the moment they walk in. Your responsibilities will include managing guest flow efficiently and supporting the overall service team. This role spans across three distinct outlets within the hotel. Sweeney’s on Boylston offers an authentic, spirited Irish dining experience with classic dishes in a lively neighborhood setting. The Irving at The Lenox provides an intimate cocktail bar experience known for its elegant and craft cocktail offerings in a charming, historic ambiance. Willow & Ivy itself, under Executive Chef Daniel Kenney, presents a refined and fresh take on New England-inspired American cuisine, serving guests in a reimagined and inviting dining space.

This position offers a chance to be part of a reputable establishment that values professionalism, exceptional service standards, and a polished presence. In addition to creating warm, memorable first impressions for guests, the Host will manage reservations and flow to ensure seamless service. They will also answer phone inquiries and assist the service team by maintaining cleanliness and organization. Beyond the functional aspects, the role encourages anticipation and exceeding guest expectations through confident and caring interactions.

Working at The Lenox not only means joining a team dedicated to hospitality excellence but also enjoying a rewarding work environment with opportunities for growth. The position provides a competitive hourly wage within the range of $20 to $22 per hour based on experience and comes with a variety of benefits for full-time employees including affordable medical and dental plans, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, paid vacation and sick leave, complimentary meals during shifts, and discounted parking.
