Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable restaurant known for delivering exceptional guest service while emphasizing sustainability through its EarthView program. This company prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and maintains high standards in both customer service and environmental responsibility. The establishment values its employees and offers clear growth paths, ensuring that team members can advance their careers within the organization. This is a dynamic workplace where the team embraces a philosophy encapsulated in their beliefs: People Are Our Capability, Hearts That Serve, Only Excellence, Stay Nimble, and Own It. The restaurant is committed to fostering a supportive environment where every staff member contributes to operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

The role available is that of a Host, an essential position within the restaurant's front-of-house team. The Host serves as the first point of contact for guests, embodying the company’s commitment to exceptional service and sustainability. The primary responsibility is to greet and escort guests to their tables following established guest service protocols and sustainability standards. In addition to seating guests, the Host is responsible for maintaining effective communication between shifts and management by logging daily entries into a communication logbook. This role includes ensuring the dining room is properly set up and assisting other team members as needed, such as helping with service during busy periods.

The Host also manages reservation records and coordinates arrangements for special functions, playing an integral role in the smooth operation of the restaurant. Employees in this role are expected to adhere to safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with relevant standards such as OSHA and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work holidays and weekends. Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, walking, and performing various physical tasks such as lifting items up to 30 pounds and bending or reaching. Through this role, employees have the opportunity to develop their skills, gain valuable customer service experience, and progress within the restaurant, potentially advancing to positions such as Food Server, Guest Service Agent, Restaurant Supervisor, or Front Office Supervisor. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, sustainability-focused environment.
