Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • minimum one year experience as host or hostess in a full-service restaurant
  • proficiency in OpenTable software
  • current food safety certification such as ServSafe or SafeStaff
  • ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day
  • ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
  • punctual and professional appearance
  • knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • compliant with hygiene and grooming standards
  • use of approved slip-resistant shoes
  • basic English communication skills required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum one year experience as a host or hostess in a full-service restaurant
  • at least one year experience using OpenTable
  • current food safety certification such as ServSafe or SafeStaff
  • outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and maintain a positive attitude in fast-paced environment
  • good knowledge of food and beverage menus including wine and cocktails
  • punctuality and professional appearance
  • basic English proficiency for communication and comprehension

Job Duties

  • Greeting guests with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • managing reservations and waitlist efficiently
  • seating guests to optimize turnover and accommodate preferences
  • handling special seating requests such as large groups or celebrations
  • communicating effectively with waitstaff and management to ensure smooth seating process
  • maintaining cleanliness and organization of waiting area
  • providing accurate menu knowledge and information
  • addressing guest concerns and resolving issues
  • assisting with to-go orders and ensuring timely preparation
  • keeping records of reservations and guest preferences
  • helping with clearing and resetting tables when needed
  • answering telephones and managing guest inquiries professionally
