Job Description

The Pirates' House is a renowned locally-owned independent restaurant group based in Savannah, Georgia, boasting two unique dining establishments: The Pirates' House Restaurant and The Cotton Exchange Tavern. Each location provides a distinct dining experience, featuring diverse concepts, menus, and ambiance, yet both share a commitment to high-quality food and exceptional customer service. The Pirates' House, a cherished restaurant in Savannah, is celebrated for its historic charm, lively atmosphere, and superb cuisine that attract locals and tourists alike. Known for its rich heritage and welcoming environment, The Pirates' House creates a memorable dining experience that intertwines tradition with excellent hospitality. As a cornerstone of Savannah's culinary landscape, the restaurant continually emphasizes a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy a top-notch meal paired with outstanding service.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and personable individuals to join our team as Hosts or Hostesses at The Pirates' House. This role is integral to shaping the first impression guests have when they walk through our doors. Whether you choose a full-time or part-time position, your presence will be pivotal in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and a seamless dining experience. The Host or Hostess is the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for greeting visitors promptly, managing reservations, providing accurate wait times, and escorting guests to their seats in both the dining and bar areas. This role requires someone with superb organizational abilities and excellent interpersonal skills to manage the often dynamic flow of guests efficiently and courteously.

In this dynamic position, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and play a key role in coordinating with the wait staff to optimize seating and enhance guest satisfaction. You should be comfortable communicating clearly both in person and over the phone, handling guest inquiries, and responding to their needs with a positive attitude. Physical stamina is also important, as the job involves standing and walking throughout your shift in a lively restaurant setting. We take pride in maintaining high standards of health and safety, and you will be expected to adhere to these regulations strictly to ensure a safe environment for our patrons and staff.

At The Pirates' House, we value our team members and offer a culture that supports dedication, professionalism, and continuous learning. Since we operate seven days a week for lunch and dinner and are only closed on Christmas Day, availability for flexible scheduling—including holidays—is essential. We provide protective masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer to uphold the highest health standards during the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Becoming a Host or Hostess here means being part of a team dedicated to delivering genuine hospitality and memorable experiences, fostering long-lasting relationships with guests and contributing to our reputation as one of Savannah’s iconic dining destinations. This role is more than just seating guests; it embodies the spirit of impeccable service and attention to detail that guests expect from The Pirates' House.
