Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with food production and service, sanitation and safety
Ability to work independently and as a team
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Compassionate and caring nature towards elderly
Interpersonal communication skills
Ability to handle stressful situations
Knowledge of safety data sheets and hazard guidelines
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and assist lifting over 100 pounds
Must wear clean uniform and maintain professional appearance

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with food production, service, sanitation and safety
Previous supervisory experience is a plus
Demonstrate interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff
Show compassion and genuine care for the elderly
Knowledge of hazardous materials safety data sheets (SDS) location and guidelines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to prioritize workload
Ability to handle stressful situations with residents, families, visitors and staff
Excellent organizational, motivational and leadership skills
Ability to work without direct supervision following community policies and guidelines
Maintain a positive and pleasant manner
Ability to manage stress constructively and seek assistance when needed

Job Duties

Ensure adequate daily coverage provided by health services staff and other assigned staff for meal service per shift by communicating with culinary services director, health services director and executive director
Assist culinary services director with training that encourages team performance within the health services department and instruct on technical issues and policies relating to food service
Attend staff meetings as required
Ensure resident, family and guest feedback is directed to community leadership
Ensure all server pre-service and post-service work is completed by delegating to assigned health service staff
Assign sections and tables to health services staff to ensure timely service
Oversee cleaning and preparation of dining room and tables ensuring restaurant style dining appearance
Reset tables, linens and ensure condiments are filled and available
Ensure drink station and or salad bar are set according to policies and procedures
Take meal orders and ensure health services staff take orders using excellent customer service skills
Ensure drinks are filled and kept filled as needed
Serve and oversee service of residents and guests to ensure choices are met
Manage guest reservations and ensure private dining room is cleaned and set for reservations
Ensure all cleaning checklists and responsibilities are completed per community policies
Ensure all room trays are set up and delivered as needed
Maintain confidentiality of residents personal information and protect and support residents rights
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment
Maintain positive customer service environment and practice honesty and integrity
Perform other duties as assigned
