We are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time Host/Hostess to join our food service and nutrition team. This role is essential in providing a high-quality dining experience to patients, ensuring their nutritional requirements and service expectations are met with professionalism and care. The Host/Hostess acts as a vital liaison between patients, nursing units, dieticians, and kitchen staff, coordinating nutritional needs and assisting patients with room service when appropriate. Scheduled hours for this role offer flexibility but require open availability including every Saturday, with shifts spanning early morning to evening time slots. Compensation ranges from $16.20 to $23.50 per hour based on experience, skills, and education, and the position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This role requires a friendly, cheerful demeanor and the ability to thrive in a busy, sometimes stressful clinical environment while upholding the culture of healing and service excellence that our organization promotes. Candidates should be self-motivated, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to problem solve effectively to meet patient needs. Job Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and proficiently
- GED/High School Diploma preferred
- 1-3 years experience in customer service
- 1-3 years experience in a food service establishment
- Working knowledge of PC/Microsoft Windows
- Typing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of menus, food and diets
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
