The Host/Hostess position at the Sunnyvale, CA location is a part-time role scheduled Monday through Friday with shifts from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM or 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a fixed pay rate of $34.56 per hour. This role is essential in welcoming and seating guests promptly and warmly, helping to create an enjoyable dining environment. The Host/Hostess manages seating arrangements efficiently and handles customer service situations with professionalism and care. Key responsibilities include supervising dining room activities to ensure excellent customer service and food safety standards, assisting with service tasks such as bussing and food service as needed, and helping to train new food-service team members. The position requires exceptional communication skills, flexibility, patience, and a genuine interest in people to foster a welcoming dining atmosphere. The Host/Hostess also plays an important role in emergency safety procedures and ensures the cleanliness and organization of the dining room. Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet and direct guests to tables based on availability or seating preference
  • Help create an enjoyable dining experience and maintain a safe, clean, and neat environment
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate patience and flexibility
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Supervise food-service associates to ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation
  • Train new food-service team members
  • Supervise closing of the dining room and ensure side work and station setup completion
