This role is essential in setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience by warmly greeting guests upon arrival, efficiently managing the seating arrangements, and ensuring that our restaurant’s front-of-house operates smoothly. As the first point of contact, the Host plays a crucial role in shaping the guests’ initial impression, managing reservations and inquiries over the phone, and working collaboratively with servers and kitchen staff to maintain an organized dining area. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and stamina to stand for extended periods. Our Host will also assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the hostess station and lobby, helping to restock menus and condiments, and supporting the team to optimize service flow. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages, typically up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Clear verbal communication to interact with people
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading and writing
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during shifts
  • Capable of lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Full mobility of hands and arms to perform repetitive tasks, such as transporting plates, glasses, and baskets between the kitchen and dining room

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with a smile and a friendly attitude upon arrival
  • Efficiently manage the seating chart to accommodate guests and optimize table turnover
  • Answer phone calls to take reservations or respond to inquiries politely and accurately
  • Provide guests with menus and notify servers of their arrival
  • Monitor the waiting list and inform guests when tables become available
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hostess station and lobby area
  • Assist with side duties such as refilling condiments, restocking menus, and helping servers as needed
