Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • Recent experience in a high volume table side service restaurant
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No felony, theft or stealing convictions
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • Ability to obtain TIPS certification
  • Ability to service guests in a professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and work in a stressful and busy environment
  • Knowledge of cash handling
  • Knowledge of dining and food maintenance operations and guest service
  • Knowledge of all menu items
  • Knowledge of POS system and/or reservations system
  • Knowledge of internal controls and commitment to follow consistently
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming license
  • Must have no felony or theft convictions
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work evenings, graveyards, holidays, and/or weekends
  • Willingness to work extended hours and irregular shifts

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service to all guests
  • Provide efficient, smooth, and accessible guest service in coordination with kitchen staff when food offerings and specials are provided
  • Accept and confirm reservations daily
  • Greet and seat guests to their dining table
  • Operate Point of Sale (POS) to conduct sales transactions, handle cash and make change as required
  • Compute bills, itemize lists and balance tickets
  • Responsible for cash handling and tendering checks
  • Manage floor seating and schematic set up
  • Handle reservation system with accurate maintenance of database and information
  • Maintain a neat, orderly and stocked host/hostess desk
  • Maintain seating charts and organization of reservations including knowledge of dining room and entryway
  • Maintain proper attendance in accordance with casino policy
  • Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required
  • Inspect dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisition table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations
  • Ensure all menus are wiped down, free of spots or stains, and complete
  • Ensure entry doors are clean, free of debris
  • Check with managers to assure there are no large or private parties scheduled
  • Distribute and track evenly all guests to servers
  • Keep constant contact with the servers and the kitchen staff to obtain a smooth service
  • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitized work area while following all TOGE, tribal, City, State and Federal health/food safety regulations and codes
  • Demonstrate Desert Diamond Casino "On Brand" attitude towards team members & guest at all times
  • Display, support and reinforce Desert Diamond Casino's Spirit of Service Standards
  • Adhere to all Title 4 (Arizona liquor law) and TOGE internal controls
  • Understand laws and regulations governing Food & Beverage
  • Uphold Tribal, City, State and Federal Health/Food Safety codes
  • Assume other responsibilities assigned by management as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
