Job Description
Flik Hospitality Group, a division of Compass Group, is a leader in the foodservice industry dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality experiences at various locations, including corporate dining, education, healthcare, and airport lounges. With a commitment to diversity of thought and inclusion, Flik Hospitality Group is known for fostering a work environment that values the contributions and growth of its associates. The company emphasizes hiring passionate individuals who share their enthusiasm for food and hospitality and offers hands-on training and education on the latest industry trends to engage and develop its team members. This culture ensures that employees enjoy their work and see each position as the beginning of a rewarding career, not merely a job.
The current opportunity is for a full-time Host/Hostess position at the San Francisco Polaris Lounge located in Terminal G, Gate 1, Level 3 South Airport in San Francisco, CA. This role is essential in delivering a warm and welcoming dining experience to guests while efficiently managing seating arrangements. The Host/Hostess plays a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction by promptly greeting customers and guiding them to their tables, based on seating availability and preferences. Beyond seating guests, the Host/Hostess maintains a safe, clean, and pleasant environment in the dining area, overseeing that food service associates perform their duties in line with customer service excellence, proper food handling, and sanitation standards.
A key part of the role involves supervising food-service associates and training new team members, helping to uphold Flik Hospitality Group's high standards of hospitality. The host/hostess is also responsible for managing end-of-day closing procedures of the dining room, ensuring all side work and station setups meet cleanliness and organization standards. Additionally, this role requires knowledge of emergency safety procedures to effectively assist and evacuate guests if necessary. Occasionally, the host/hostess may assist with bussing and food service duties and operate equipment such as coffee machines, iced tea/soda machines, and telecommunications.
With a competitive fixed pay rate of $23.00 per hour, this full-time position offers benefits including free meals, uniform and laundering services at select locations, and an internal employee referral bonus. The schedule includes variable days and hours, details of which are discussed during the interview process. The host/hostess position is ideal for individuals with previous janitorial experience and excellent communication skills who enjoy working in a dynamic hospitality environment. As part of Compass Group, employees are offered a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, commuter benefits, and access to wellness programs—making it a robust employment package.
Flik Hospitality Group embraces diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fair treatment without regard to race, nationality, gender, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected classifications. The company supports a drug-free workplace and applies fair chance hiring practices aligned with applicable laws. This role is geared toward candidates who are eager to thrive in an environment focused on hospitality excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning while delivering memorable dining experiences to guests at a premier airport lounge.
