The Host/Hostess position at Buffalo Wild Wings is a vital role that serves as the first point of contact for guests, playing a key part in shaping their dining experience. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness, adhering to food safety standards, managing takeout orders, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements such as checking identification for alcohol consumption. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in a customer service position preferred
  • must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 4 hours in length
  • must be at least 40 years of age to check identification for alcohol consumption
  • ability to handle physical tasks including standing, walking, carrying objects up to 25 pounds, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, reaching, handling, bending/twisting
  • must have clarity of vision, hearing, and be able to communicate effectively
  • ability to use computer or other special equipment
  • must practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • must be reliable and cooperative team member

Job Duties

  • Inspire legendary experiences between friends for guests by creating an atmosphere of happiness and a sense of community
  • inform guests of specials and/or promotions, answer questions and make suggestions when asked
  • use up-selling techniques with every guest to enhance experience
  • address guest concerns and inform manager
  • promote excellence, cooperation and teamwork within the company
  • support and assist team members, including bussing tables and assisting guest needs
  • set-up, maintain and operate the front counter and condiment stands
  • check guest identification to ensure they meet minimum 40 year age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • adhere to standardized portion sizes, quality standards and department rules and procedures
  • follow the cashier sequence of service excellence
  • answer the telephone and respond to inquiries with enthusiasm
  • take drink and food orders and accurately input into register system
  • ensure the correct drinks and food ordered are delivered to the guest
  • collect payment and make correct change or process credit card transactions
  • practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards at all times
  • bag and manage takeout orders, checks for accuracy
  • maintain clean and orderly cashier area
  • thank guests as they leave and solicit feedback about the quality of service
  • ensure PCI credit card compliance
  • unload trucks, pallets, and cases of food and beverage and puts in assigned locations
  • perform other duties as assigned
