With a focus on customer satisfaction, Denny's continually strives to maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency to ensure guests receive exceptional service every time they visit.
The Host/Hostess position at Denny's is a vital role designed to create a positive first impression and support smooth front-of-house operations within the restaurant. This role involves greeting guests warmly upon arrival, managing wait lists, and facilitating efficient seating arrangements to enhance the overall dining experience. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, General Manager, or Manager on Duty, the Host/Hostess is responsible for maintaining an organized and welcoming environment that aligns with Denny's brand standards. Individuals in this position will embody professionalism, friendliness, and teamwork while ensuring the dining area remains orderly and inviting.
This opportunity offers a competitive pay range of $15.00 to $25.00 per hour, with actual earnings dependent on factors such as experience, education, location, hours worked, and potential overtime. Flexible scheduling includes shift work during days, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs. The role demands standing and walking for extended periods, along with other physical activities such as carrying menus and cleaning duties, which support a clean and hospitable atmosphere. Cognitive demands include multitasking capabilities, effective communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
As the first point of contact for guests, the Host/Hostess ensures that visitors receive courteous and efficient service. They manage seating flows by balancing server sections, monitor dining room activity, and assist servers and other staff during busy periods. Additionally, the role encompasses maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house areas, including the host stand and waiting areas. The Host/Hostess also performs various cleaning and side work tasks as assigned by management.
Working at Denny's provides an enriching environment where teamwork, customer service excellence, and professionalism are highly valued. The successful candidate will be dependable, punctual, and motivated to uphold the restaurant's reputation through consistent performance and positive interactions with guests and team members. This position also offers an opportunity to develop skills in hospitality, communication, and restaurant operations, making it an excellent entry point for individuals pursuing a career in the food service industry.
