Job Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively
  • ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
  • ability to perform reaching and stooping motions

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a host or hostess or in a customer service role is preferred but not required
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • positive attitude and a welcoming demeanor
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming attitude upon their arrival
  • maintain an organized reservation system including taking reservations via phone or online platforms
  • manage the seating process efficiently balancing guest preferences, table availability, and server assignments
  • effectively manage waitlists during peak hours providing estimated wait times and waiting options
  • provide guests with information about menus, daily specials, and promotions
  • communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff regarding table availability, special requests, and guest concerns
  • maintain a clean and organized host stand and waiting area, ensuring menus and promotional materials are in good condition
  • bid guests a warm farewell and express appreciation for their visit, collect feedback and address immediate concerns
