Job Duties

  • Greets and welcomes customers immediately upon arrival
  • verifies number in party and determines special needs such as high chairs or special menus
  • collects payment from customers following established cash handling procedures
  • inquires about food and service satisfaction
  • handles customer complaints and suggestions appropriately
  • seats customers at appropriate tables or booths
  • introduces daily feature items
  • keeps hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
  • handles incoming telephone calls and takes to-go orders when appropriate
  • maintains a proper supply of clean menus
  • periodically suggests beverages, provides orders and refills
  • assists service personnel in cleaning and setting tables
  • resolves complaints and notifies manager of any issues
  • assists other service personnel as needed
