Job Duties
- Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor
- provide a positive first impression and set the tone for the overall dining experience
- assist guests with inquiries and provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies
- address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly
- be attentive to the needs of guests including special requests or accommodations
- handle seating for large parties and special events efficiently
- manage restaurant reservations including confirming, modifying, or canceling bookings
- maintain an organized reservation system and communicate reservation status to serving staff
- assess dining room layout and manage efficient seating assignments to optimize table turnover
- consider server sections and balance workload among serving staff
- keep waiting area clean, organized, and visually appealing
- provide accurate wait time estimates and offer alternatives such as bar seating
- ensure host stand and surrounding areas are neat and well-maintained
- maintain effective communication with kitchen, serving staff, and management
- relay special requests and dietary restrictions to serving team
- collaborate with servers to coordinate timing of reservations and walk-ins
- facilitate communication between front and back of the house
