Job Duties

  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • provide a positive first impression and set the tone for the overall dining experience
  • assist guests with inquiries and provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies
  • address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly
  • be attentive to the needs of guests including special requests or accommodations
  • handle seating for large parties and special events efficiently
  • manage restaurant reservations including confirming, modifying, or canceling bookings
  • maintain an organized reservation system and communicate reservation status to serving staff
  • assess dining room layout and manage efficient seating assignments to optimize table turnover
  • consider server sections and balance workload among serving staff
  • keep waiting area clean, organized, and visually appealing
  • provide accurate wait time estimates and offer alternatives such as bar seating
  • ensure host stand and surrounding areas are neat and well-maintained
  • maintain effective communication with kitchen, serving staff, and management
  • relay special requests and dietary restrictions to serving team
  • collaborate with servers to coordinate timing of reservations and walk-ins
  • facilitate communication between front and back of the house
